Canadian jailed in Kentucky after 43 guns found in car

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A Canadian man was booked into the Madison County Detention Center after Kentucky State Police troopers say they seized more than 40 firearms during a traffic stop on Interstate 75 on Wednesday, September 25.

KyShawn Maxwell, 20, of Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, is accused of having 39 handguns and four rifles in a car. KSP troopers said six of the guns were reported stolen and three of the handguns were converted to fully automatic weapons.

Kentucky State Police said he was arrested for receiving stolen property. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and the United States Attorney’s Office are assisting in this investigation.
