Two victims targeted in wave of armed robberies in Washington


Washington, D.C. A suspect has been arrested in connection with two recent robberies in the Southeast.

On Thursday, September 26, around 12:25 p.m., the suspect approached a victim who was heading towards a bus stop in the 2400 block of L’Enfant Square Sud-Est. He threatened the victim with a gun, demanded property and grabbed the victim’s bag before fleeing in a black sedan.

The next day, Friday, September 27, around 10:15 a.m., the suspect again threatened a victim with a gun as she parked her car in the 2300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue Southeast. After demanding his belongings, he fled the scene in a black sedan.

Officers located the suspect shortly after the second robbery and arrested him. They recovered the property from the thefts at the time of his arrest. Donovan Adams, 30, who has no fixed address, was charged with two counts of robbery and possession of a BB gun.

    Washington, D.C. – A man was arrested for allegedly stealing more than $6,699 worth of merchandise from CVS stores across the Northwest.

    On Thursday, September 26, officers apprehended Craig Wilson, 64, of Northwest, DC, pursuant to an arrest warrant from the DC Superior Court. He faces 23 counts of second-degree theft for several incidents detailed below.

    The thefts occurred from June to September at various CVS locations, with the stolen items including merchandise valued at $672.31 and $600, among other items.

    The Metropolitan Police Service highlights its commitment to preventing theft in community establishments and holding offenders accountable. Witnesses of a theft in progress at a retail business are advised not to intervene but to call 911.

  • DC police seek help identifying suspects in Potomac Avenue shooting

    Washington, D.C. – Detectives are actively searching for suspects involved in a shooting in the Southeast.

    On Saturday, September 28, around 11 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the Unit block of Potomac Avenue, Southeast. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult female suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, who was then transported to a local hospital for treatment.

    The suspects were captured by nearby surveillance cameras and the footage is publicly available.

    Authorities are urging anyone who can identify these suspects or has information about the incident to contact police at (202) 727-9099 or text the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE to 50411. A reward of up to up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for violent crimes in the District of Columbia.
