Two victims targeted in wave of armed robberies in Washington


Washington, D.C. A suspect has been arrested in connection with two recent robberies in the Southeast.

On Thursday, September 26, around 12:25 p.m., the suspect approached a victim who was heading towards a bus stop in the 2400 block of L’Enfant Square Sud-Est. He threatened the victim with a gun, demanded property and grabbed the victim’s bag before fleeing in a black sedan.

The next day, Friday, September 27, around 10:15 a.m., the suspect again threatened a victim with a gun as she parked her car in the 2300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue Southeast. After demanding his belongings, he fled the scene in a black sedan.

Officers located the suspect shortly after the second robbery and arrested him. They recovered the property from the thefts at the time of his arrest. Donovan Adams, 30, who has no fixed address, was charged with two counts of robbery and possession of a BB gun.

  • Police respond and arrest woman after violent altercation in Washington

    Washington, D.C. – An arrest has been made in connection with a criminal threatening offense that occurred in Northwest, DC.

    On Monday, September 30, around 3 p.m., officers received a report of a property destruction incident in the 3100 block of 14th Street, Northwest. When officers arrived, they saw an individual engaging in a verbal altercation with an employee. The suspect threatened to attack the employee by using homophobic insults.

    Officers quickly arrested Jasmine Cunningham, 28, of Northwest, charging her with threatening to kidnap or injure a person and second-degree theft.

    The Metropolitan Police are investigating the incident as it may be motivated by hatred or prejudice. This designation may change as more information is collected during the investigation. Even though the MPD has labeled it a hate crime, that does not guarantee prosecution as such. The Special Liaison Directorate is supporting the investigation.

  • Drug charges filed against Dover man after Lincoln search warrant

    Lincoln, DE — Delaware State Police arrested Antonio Young, 44, of Dover, on felony drug charges after executing a search warrant at a Lincoln residence last week.

    On Thursday, members of the Sussex and Kent County Drug Units, the Sussex and Kent County Governor’s Task Force and the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team executed a search warrant at a home in the 8000 block of Greentop Road in Lincoln. The warrant followed an investigation into Young and the distribution of illegal narcotics from the property. Twelve people, including Young, were arrested by detectives at the scene.

    The search revealed approximately 0.756 grams of heroin, approximately 15.72 grams of crack cocaine, 12 gauge shotgun ammunition, digital scales, drug paraphernalia and $454 in suspected drug proceeds. Four of the twelve individuals were arrested for minor offenses and existing capias arrest warrants. The others were released without incident.

    Young was transported to Troop 4 and charged with several felonies, including Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Level 2 (Misdemeanor), Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Prohibited Person.
