ALBANY – A Halfmoon man was sentenced Tuesday to more than 17 years in prison in a drug and gun trafficking case, federal prosecutors said.

Anthony Luizzi, 24, of Halfmoon, pleaded guilty earlier to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl, as well as possession with intent to distribute drug and firearm possession charges in drug trafficking crimes, prosecutors said.

He was sentenced to a total of 17 years and 6 months in prison.

He then admitted to conspiring to distribute and possess cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl from his residence in Halfmoon and an apartment on Western Avenue in Albany, prosecutors said.

A May 2023 search of his Halfmoon apartment uncovered more than 11 kilograms of fentanyl pills, as well as five firearms, including a shotgun with a defaced serial number, prosecutors said. Law enforcement also seized $2,616 in drug proceeds.
