Kinston man wanted for armed robbery arrested in Cary

LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A Kinston man wanted in connection with a weekend robbery was arrested in Cary Monday.

Lenoir County deputies charged Robert Brown in Saturday’s armed robbery outside Grifton.

Deputies say the robbery happened on Leland Road, where they found a large crowd gathered in the road after a man was robbed at gunpoint.

Brown, 25, was identified as a suspect and officers alerted Cary police Monday to the possible location where they arrested him after a traffic stop.

Brown was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The man is being held without bail because deputies say he was out on bond for another crime at the time.
