Across the country, they collected more than $500,000 and more than 1,000 pounds of illegal narcotics, including fentanyl.

San Antonio led the way in terms of the number of arrests, but officials say that doesn’t necessarily mean there’s more crime in San Antonio.

“We actually got together (and) planned this for several months, and it had a big impact. This doesn’t necessarily mean that this city had a higher number of crimes, it’s just the amount of work and effort we put in, the collaboration, the hours, the manpower to make an impact so significant,” the Western Texas chief said. division of the American Marshalls John Allen.

The 10 cities in which Operation North Star was conducted include San Antonio, Texas; Dallas, TX; North Charleston, South Carolina; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Little Rock, Arkansas; Phoenix, Arizona; St. Louis, Missouri (to include East St. Louis, Illinois); Birmingham, Ala.; Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and Dayton, Ohio.
