Unhinged Sociopath Donald Trump Says Police Should Violently Assault Americans in ‘Hard Hour’ to End Shoplifting

One of the most absurd lies promulgated by MAGA Republicans is the idea that Donald Trump does not regularly condone violence. They did it while he was in power, they did it after January 6, and they did it, most recently, following two attempts on his life – all while claiming it was in committed a criminal act. Democratic rhetoric that led two men to attempt to assassinate him. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth, and the latest example that rips apart their claims would be Trump’s call this weekend for police to violently and massively attack Americans in order to put a end to crime.

Speaking at a rally in Pennsylvania, the ex-president said the key to preventing crimes like shoplifting is state-sanctioned beatings, which he deplored that the “left” does not allow. “You see these guys coming out with air conditioners, refrigerators on their backs. The craziest thing,” Trump said. “And the police are not allowed to do their job. They are told, if you do something, you will lose your pension…. They’re not allowed to do it because the liberal left won’t let them. The liberal left wants to destroy them, and they want to destroy our country.” Then he revealed his big idea: “If you had a really violent day…a tough hour, and I mean real hard, the news will spread and it will end immediately.

During his speech, Trump also falsely claimed that up to $950 worth of merchandise could be stolen without consequences in California, which appeared to be both a reference to Proposition 47 – which downgraded certain theft crimes to of criminal offenses – and an attempt to link the law to the then California Attorney General Kamala Harris. But as Politico notes, while Harris was in office when the ballot initiative was approved, “she remained neutral on the issue.” Meanwhile, “the dollar threshold that Trump was referring to became law four years earlier, signed by then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, a republican.

Following Trump’s remarks in Pennsylvania, a spokesperson for his campaign absurdly claimed that he was “clearly just floating (the police beating) as a joke,” adding, “President Trump has always been the law and order president and he continues to reiterate the importance of enforcing existing laws. laws. Trump, of course, is the only person currently running for president who is a convicted felon.
