State police seek suspect in Mansfield armed robbery

MANSFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — State police are searching for a suspect who robbed a Citgo gas station at gunpoint in Mansfield Saturday afternoon.

The clerk told police the suspect brandished a long-barreled revolver and fled on foot with $700 from the Citgo, located at 9 Stafford Rd. He was last seen driving south on Route 32 near Pleasant Valley Road.

The suspect was described as a white male, 5’8″ tall, with a slim build and between 20 and 30 years old. He was wearing a royal blue hoodie with a Champion logo, black sweatpants, gloves and a surgical mask over his face.

A witness described a Ford pickup truck, possibly an F-150, with a loud exhaust, speeding out of the area at the time of the robbery.

Anyone who sees a person or vehicle matching these descriptions should not approach or oppose them.
