Sheriff’s Office Searches for Suspect in Burgaw Armed Robbery

BURGAW, NC (WECT) – The Pender County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect accused of robbing two people at a Burgaw store.

According to PCSO, the suspect allegedly used a handgun to steal wallets and cash from both individuals. The incident occurred on Sunday, August 4, at approximately 8:13 p.m. at Donnie’s Mini Mart on U.S. Highway 117.

“The suspect was described as a dark-skinned male, Spanish speaking, short and heavyset. The suspect was wearing a red coat, black pants, a red wig, and a black mask. The suspect drove away in a 2004-2009 Mazda 3, white in color, with a 30-day temporary license plate. The suspect fled southbound on U.S. 117 toward the Rocky Point area. The suspect’s vehicle had minor damage to the rear passenger side, with a gash behind the rear tire on the passenger side. Additionally, he was driving the vehicle with a spare tire on the front passenger side,” the sheriff’s office said.
