Hoffenheim striker Maximilian Beier is set to reject interest from the Premier League in favour of a move to Borussia Dortmund.

Beier is a transfer target for English clubs after a stellar season in the Bundesliga in 2023-24. The 21-year-old has scored 16 league goals for Hoffenheim, earning him a place in the Germany squad ahead of this summer’s European Championship.

Chelsea and Aston Villa have made enquiries to sign Beier this summer, while Sky Germany report that Liverpool have been monitoring his progress and have held “talks in recent days” to discuss a potential deal.

However, Beier will ignore interest from the Premier League in favour of Borussia Dortmund, who have opened talks with Hoffenheim over a transfer.

The forward has a €30m (£25m) release clause in his Hoffenheim contract and Dortmund are discussing terms of a deal with their German rivals.

Dortmund are keen to add Beier to their attacking line alongside recent signing Serhou Guirassy, following the sale of Niclas Fullkrug to West Ham and the imminent loan of Youssoufa Moukoko to Marseille.
