California Task Force Arrests 14 Human Traffickers in SDCC Undercover Operation – News

10 victims found during an undercover operation

The California Department of Justice announced Tuesday that it and the San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force made 14 arrests and recovered 10 human trafficking victims during a sting operation at the San Diego Comic-Con event July 25-27.

The announcement said the operation involved law enforcement officers working undercover at the event, posing as sex buyers to contact potential victims and posting undercover ads soliciting sex in order to catch traffickers. The operation netted nine adult victims and a 16-year-old girl.

San Diego Comic-Con took place at the San Diego Convention Center from July 25-28.
