“Reject APC or risk hunger protests” – Voters warned ahead of Edo poll

This opinion was issued by the Movement for Democracy in a statement released on Thursday, August 1, by Osaze Samuel, the coordinator of the pro-democracy group.

The President highlighted the severe economic distress and widespread hunger affecting millions of Nigerians as evidence of the APC’s poor governance.

“The hunger protests across Nigeria are not just isolated incidents, but are symptomatic of systemic failures under the APC regime,” Samuel said.

Samuel highlighted the APC’s continued failure to address the urgent needs of the population, stressing that the current economic crisis is a direct consequence of the party’s mismanagement.

He urged the citizens of Edo State to make an informed decision by carefully examining the antecedents of the APC and its candidate.

“The hunger protests are a clear signal that the current leadership of APC President Bola Tinubu is failing.

“It is crucial that voters in Edo State support candidates who will genuinely work to address these issues and improve the lives of ordinary Nigerians,” Samuel continued.

In the latter part of the statement, they urged the citizens of Edo State to reject the APC.

“We urge the people of Edo to reject the APC, a party synonymous with pain, sorrow, tears and blood,” the group added.
