More than 150 professionals from four states gathered at the Dalton Convention Center to tackle this critical issue.

“This conference is meant to give people involved in the office or medical field an understanding of how human trafficking works and also how to talk to victims and identify potential victims,” said City of Dalton Communications Director Bruce Frazier.

Conference officials say the event focuses on recognizing signs of trauma and PTSD, effective interview techniques and more.

“I brought that back to our community and as a forensic coordinator, it allowed me to bring that same training to our community,” said Ashley Cloer, coordinator.

With the support of local and state officials, this conference marks an important step in their mission to create a safer environment for all.
