Ondo businesswoman hacked to death five days after celebrating her birthday

A According to reports, Debbi Olakunbi Adene, a 54-year-old businesswoman, was hacked to death at his residence by unknown assailants five days after his birthday in Ondo State

It was gathered that the lifeless body of the woman, a popular caterer in the state and CEO of Country Kitchen and Event, was discovered on her bed on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at her residence at Oda Road, Akure.

A source who requested anonymity told state-run newspaper, The Hope Metro, that the deceased, a mother of two, was in good health and showed no signs of illness days before she was killed.

His lifeless body was found in a pool of blood, with no trace of his murderers.

The deceased’s husband, Dele Adene, described the news of his wife’s death as a brutal shock.

“I was told that my wife’s body was found on her bed in a pool of blood, which indicates that she was killed with a machete,” he said.

“I can’t believe that no arrests have been made as of this writing. I believe that suspects should have been arrested.

“His phone should be tracked and I don’t know how the residents of the building didn’t know that something like this was happening in a four-unit house.”

The remains of the deceased were deposited at the Akure mortuary.

The spokesperson for the state police command, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the incident on Tuesday, July 30.

“I am aware of the incident and an investigation is currently underway,” she said.
