First “treasure” of the Internal Affairs! 47 detentions


ANKARA (IGFA) – The Ministry of the Interior, which organizes many different operations in the fight against crime and criminals, has organized the first “Treasure” operation.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced details of the operation, dubbed Define-1, on his social media account.

Minister Yerlikaya indicated that thanks to the work carried out by the Anti-Smuggling Directorate of the Izmir Provincial Police Department, under the coordination of the Izmir Chief Prosecutor’s Office and the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Mistakes Department of the General Directorate of Security, 24 investigations were carried out in Izmir against the suspects who committed “smuggling of historical objects” and “establishing an organization with the aim of committing a crime.” He indicated that the “Define-1” operation was organized in the province.

It was noted that during the operation, where 47 suspects were arrested by the teams, 6 thousand 325 coins, 997 objects, 5 detectors, 2 unlicensed rifles, an unlicensed firearm and numerous cartridges were seized.

In addition, it was determined that 2,020 historical objects of Turkish origin, which were seized in Croatia in 57 and returned to our country, were taken abroad as part of the organization’s activities.
